PC-Duo Remote Control 12.6 Update

We have some exciting news to share with the Vector community! Our recent PC-Duo version 12.5 and 12.6 releases are now fully compatible with Windows 10, something that we understand has been important to our customers for some time now. We have been working hard to improve the performance of PC-Duo to ensure that we release the most superior version, with all the features that we know are critical.

We know that many are making the transition to Windows 10, so version 12.6 supports Windows 2003 and XP all the way through to Windows 10. We are proud to finally be announcing this, and hope that our customers old and new will take advantage of this based on their specific system and needs. There are a number of new features in PC-Duo 12.6 that are also worth mentioning – but don’t worry, we will try not to bore you with too much product talk! Firstly, users are now able to select a single monitor in the Master and ClickOnce connection Window view, where there may be multiple monitors but only one needs to be seen. This is ideal for eliminating the problem of unnecessary screens getting in your way on a connection. An automatic recording feature allows all matching live Master connections to Hosts to be recorded when enabled, including the local disk free space monitoring. As well, being the proactive problem-solvers that we are (*wink*), we have now built in the utility to clear the Windows ClickOne cache, since we discovered (after much extensive research on your behalf) that the Windows operating system does not provide what we think is a sufficient way to do so. If something is not up to our standards, we fix it!

In terms of view in the PC-Duo system, our customers should note that the type of session will now be identifiable in the Web Console with new graphics. An On Demand host will be marked with a “D”, and a “pin” icon will become highlighted if the session is pinned. In addition, customization of the Web Console landing page and colours is now easier to achieve, and is maintained when the software is upgraded. We understand how important customization is to users, so we wanted to make it as easy as possible for your benefit. Lastly, new functionality to the ClickOne connection window allows for the ability to suppress the Host mouse & keyboard input if desired. We want you to have all the control!
For those of you currently using PC-Duo, as well as those weighing their options before purchasing a Remote Control product, we invite you to consider these updates and have your life made easier! We hope you love PC-Duo 12.6.
