Vector Networks joins with GTLaw in CLE session to address challenges of software license compliance.
May 19, 2010 — Palo Alto — Vector Networks, a leader in IT asset, change and service management solutions, is co—presenting a lunch seminar on software license compliance with leading law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP.
Vector’s contribution to the session will be presented by Kevin Kiley, Vector’s Atlanta based VP Business Development. Kevin observes — “This is a great opportunity to help summarize the technical, legal and commercial challenges of software license compliance in one forum. As far as we know, this is the first time that these three aspects of the compliance challenge have been brought together in this way in a high level briefing.” “We feel privileged to have been invited by Greenberg Traurig to contribute our insight into the technical challenges to this session.”
The session will be moderated by Heather J Meeker, who chairs the Intellectual Property/Information Technology Licensing and Transactions group at Greenberg Traurig. Heather has deep experience of advising organizations facing vendor or BSA scrutiny on software license compliance.
Heather noted that — “Today, every company is a technology company —— and management of licenses is important to every company’s risk management. Most license violations are unintentional, and license violation claims catch companies by surprise. This session will help lawyers and managers understand the risks and how to minimize them.”
Under GT Law’s supervision, the session will qualify for credits under California’s Continuing Legal Education program.
