Common Controls Replacement Project Registration Utility Version 1.20 (build 0009) August 14, 1998 The CCRP Registration Utility is a rather simple yet quite useful application that both registers and unregisters ActiveX control (.ocx), ActiveX Server (.dll) and Type Library (.tlb) files. The included inf file "ccrpRegUtil_AddReg.inf" can be installed to add the "Register" and "Unregister" menu commands to the context menu for the file types above. This will allow the CCRP Registration Utility to register and unregister files of the above type from a right click in any Explorer window. The CCRP Registration Utility file must reside is the folder that this inf file was last installed or the context menu commands will fail. Likewise, the inf file "ccrpRegUtil_DelReg.inf" can be installed to remove the context menus that "ccrpRegUtil_AddReg.inf" installed. Open either in a text editor to read each file's respective details. Though not a control, this application is distributed as freeware, as are all CCRP offerings, and is subject to all terms and conditions detailed on the CCRP site's Licensing and Distribution Agreement page at: http://www.mvps.org/ccrp/resource/faqs/licensing.htm And despite what may be (had been) stated about the lack of support offered for CCRP Cool Tools, this application *is* supported by the author. Bugs or comments can be posted to the CCRP news group server in the ccrp.cooltools newsgroup (news://news.mvps.org/ccrp.cooltools). Revision History: 05/12/98 1.00 ============= - First public release (included with the beta 1 version of the FTV) 05/22/98 1.01 ============= - Added type library registration/unregistration. - Changed the application's name from "CCRP Server Registration Utility" to more accurately reflect the application's new overall functionality. - Fixed a bug that caused the application to terminate abnormally during an excessively long file registration/unregistration. 08/12/98 v1.20 ============== - Added context menu/file type icon registration file. - Added file type icon resources to the executable. - Added the option to terminate or continue run the program when run from the command line and a file's registration/unregistration failed (the program used to automatically continue running under this circumstance). - Added dialog box information more precisely indicating the cause of any file registration/unregistration failure. - Fixed bugs that caused the application to execute incorrectly when run from the command line. - Fixed a bug where the Open dialog box forgot what file type was last selected. - Removed ActiveX executables from the list of files that can be registered/ unregistered (ActiveX executables do not contain registration information, someone was high...). - Separated the combined "ActiveX Server" file types into "ActiveX Controls" and "ActiveX DLL" in the Open dialog box's list of file types. We hope that you find it as handy as we have. Copyright © 1998 Brad Martinez, CCRP http://www.mvps.org/ccrp/
