Vector ITSM delivers ITIL concepts for mid-range market

January 29th 2014 Atlanta GA, Montreal, and Birmingham (UK) — Vector Networks announces availability of an integrated IT Service Management platform for the small and medium enterprise market.

With the announcement today of Vector ITSM, Vector builds on the strengths of its established Issue Tracker platform and presents a comprehensive, ITIL-oriented IT Service Management platform that delivers integrated Incident, Problem and Change Management.

Vector ITSM handles the often complex relationships between the ITIL categories of IT processes cleanly and efficiently, facilitating cooperation between analysts on the IT help desk, internal and external developers, and managers. Out of the box, Vector ITSM enables mid-size organizations to implement ITIL processes quickly, while not limiting the potential for further refinement, adjustments and optimization.

In Vector ITSM, the usual Service Management functions are partnered by foundation Asset Discovery. This provides support analysts with immediate access to the configuration details of individual desktops, and provides asset analysis in support of Change Management. A License Management module holds license and maintenance contract information and also correlates license block purchases with groups of desktops in the asset database.

Erick Yanez, Vector's CEO, remarks – "While ITIL has been an irresistible trend in large organizations, we have found our middleprise market to be far more pragmatic about the level of complexity they want in the way they manage their IT support. We have been piloting separate ITIL implementations for some time with key accounts. That has enabled us to build an integrated suite that has the right balance: is flexible enough to reflect the individual needs of our customers, delivering on the key concepts of ITIL without demanding unwanted changes in the way IT services are delivered."
