Vector Networks' PC-Duo® provides remote control for Terminal Server sessions

April 20th, 2011 — Atlanta, Montreal, and Birmingham (UK) — Vector Networks, a leader in IT asset and service management solutions, today announced PC-Duo Remote Support for Terminal Services. Providing unique consistency of remote support across thick and thin client environments, Vector have answered one of the main issues of support for thin client users.

The PC-Duo for Terminal Services architecture supports both Citrix and Microsoft Terminal Server servers, and is independent of the actual thin client device. An instance of the PC-Duo Host is automatically injected into each Terminal session when it is initiated. Because a Host is injected dynamically into each terminal session, and is not attached to the remote thin client device, these Hosts are effectively transient. Remote control connections with the transient Hosts are managed through the PC-Duo Enterprise Gateway.

Security is a primary concern in many environments, and PC-Duo for Terminal Services offers automated session recording, providing an audit trail for any support activity involving exposure of sensitive data.

PC-Duo for Terminal Services is licensed by concurrent session capacity, independent of the number of physical thin client devices connected. In cluster installations with provision for failover and redundancy, it is not necessary to purchase multiple licenses to support the terminal server redundancy, as the total capacity for PC-Duo sessions can be limited at the PC-Duo Enterprise Gateway.
