Vector Networks Europe appoints John Dawson.
May 24, 2010 — Atlanta, Montreal, and Birmingham (UK) — Vector Networks, a leader in IT asset and service management solutions, today welcomed John Dawson to spearhead new business development in the UK and Europe.
John’s remit includes prioritising and positioning individual solutions from the Vector product range in relation to the specific needs of the countries in the region. John is additionally charged with the establishment of an expanded channel partner network, and the supporting infrastructure, such as collaborative marketing programs.
John has held a variety of senior roles in the IT Asset Management industry since 1998, including channel management posts with some of the largest players in the industry. The Vector appointment enables him to play a more involved part in directing the evolution of the products. John says, “I am particularly excited by the opportunity for organizations to expand and deepen their software asset management activities with the Vector solutions. Surveys indicate that amongst the majority of organizations, SAM adoption is still at a very early stage, and that there are tremendous opportunities for cost savings and more effective delivery of technology to users.”
John will report to Kevin Kiley, Vector’s global VP of Sales and Business Development, who observed — “John’s experience in the European market and his personal interest in Software Asset Management make him the ideal candidate for taking Vector’s European business through a new phase of growth. Recent evolution of Vector’s IT Asset Management solution family will support the recruitment of new service-oriented resellers.”
John’s arrival comes within days of the v5.7 release of Vector’s Asset Manager Pro solution, with new features particularly aligned to the rapid increase in remote working being seen across Europe. John will also be involved with the introduction into Europe of a new insurance-backed managed service for software license compliance, based on the AM Pro technology. John again —“Vector’s Software Asset Management software has a lot of strong features, but I was particularly intrigued with the way Vector has identified software license compliance as both a technical challenge and also an area of commercial risk, of concern at the CEO/CFO level. The managed service proposition, with its unique indemnification, is a strong response to that combined technical and commercial challenge.”
